MEET THE CHEF
Born in Sicily, Rosario’s earliest memories revolve around family gatherings at the dinner table where his nonna’s meals served as a pillar for many shared experiences. The simplicity, freshness and diverse flavours of these meals remain Rosario’s primary source of inspiration.
With the rich culture of southern Italian cooking already in his blood, Rosario spent five years mastering his culinary skills in the baroque city of Modica, Sicily. He then went on to spend several years working in the hospitality industry and notable restaurants throughout Italy, France, Switzerland, Mexico, the Caribbean and Canada. Through these travels, he earned additional certifications, including ones in vegan cuisine and fruit carving, a specialty of his.
Now living in Canada with his family, Rosario is Executive Chef at a private boarding school and runs his own catering company, Crave IT Catering. He is passionate about different cultures and exploring their culinary secrets, which he loves to share with his clients and infuse into every dish.
Outside of work, Rosario stays active by organizing men’s soccer leagues, travelling and entertaining friends (even breaking out his juggling routine once in a while).
